Screened Porch Conversion | Under Construction | 2026

A young family in East Lake loved their older house, with its high ceilings and thoughtful updates, and wanted more usable outdoor space. The program called for converting the existing rear deck into a screened porch.

The challenge was light: a conventional porch roof would have shaded the rooms behind it. Potts Lang Architects answered with a gable roof and skylights, which carry daylight through the porch and into the interior, preserving the solar access the house already enjoyed.
